Following up Rivié restaurant and Jacques cocktail bar, Planche, Hoxton hotel’s last venue, mixes biodynamic and natural wines with finely selected local products. Hidden under the courtyard’s canopy, its identity draws inspiration from Art Deco French wine posters from the 20’s and 30’s calling these traditional wine bars authenticity back to mind, thus mixing design and taste.

Agence En Place has been consulted by Hoxton’s Ennismore Design Studio to design a practical and functional interior bar layout for both drink service, food preparation and fresh products preserving. The challenge was to harmoniously integrate both wine storage bi-temperature cellar and cheese and charcuterie maturation cellar within their carpentry. The stainless steel front bar was welded in one piece, curved in an elliptic round shape, with a mat finish that mimics the aesthetic of the zinc countertop bar.
